Assistive Technology and Math

As previously discussed, assistive technology plays a large role in the classroom. Assistive technology can act as a device to aide learners with disabilities, as well as enhance the information to all students. Acting as a phenomenal resource, as well as an adaptation or modification to a lesson, AT is changing the way information is reciprocated and retained within the classroom setting. Although we have already identified how assistive technology can be incorporated into lessons where typing, speaking, and writing is involved, one might question how assistive technology can be utilized when focusing on the content subject of mathematics. When searching the web, there are many interactive Internet sites that are focused on practicing math skills. Below are several websites I found to be effective to enhance the information to all learners.

  1. Lizz, great websites! I think that AT devices in math can be very useful! There are so many AT devices out there to help students with disabilities along with so many applications that can be downloaded on the iPad and used in the classroom!
